How long do I have to file a personal injury claim in Texas?
Texas generally allows two years from the date of injury to file a personal injury lawsuit. Certain exceptions may apply. If your claim is against a doctor, dentist, or other health care provider, written notice must be sent to each provider at least 60 days before filing, and giving that notice correctly and before the deadline may extend the deadline by 75 days, but do not rely on that extension.
